Abstract

In the context of Professional and Technological Education (PTE), where the persistence of cis-heteronormativity and various prejudices still prevails, it is crucial to understand how academic research has addressed these issues. This article presents excerpts from interviews and a systematic literature review focused on studies published about the presence and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community in PTE, conducted by researchers in the humanities. The databases used were the CAPES Journal Portal, Oasisbr, and Google Scholar. The results reveal a predominance of exploratory and descriptive research, often combining concepts related to gender relations with those addressing sexual diversity. The analysis concludes by highlighting the importance of further research that takes into account the diversity of experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community and the intersection with other social categories.
